Chips & Bits (Memory & SSDs)

As vice president of memory marketing, Jim Elliott oversees marketing activities for Samsung’s memory division in the Americas. Throughout his more than 14 years of experience, Jim has focused on sales and marketing at major multinationals, like Hitachi and Fujitsu Microelectronics.

Jim holds an MBA from Cal Poly and a degree in sociology/organizational Studies from UC Davis, and continually demonstrates an enviable “quick study” capability often noticed by his colleagues and partners.
This is evident in his grasp of business trends, which is well represented in his many keynote presentations at major international industry events. Known for his wit and verbal acumen, Jim’s speaking style is rooted in lineage that traces back to Mark Twain as a distant relative.

While Jim Elliott works tirelessly during the work week, he spends most of his remaining time with the three other joys of his life – his wife and two daughters, ages 8 and 5. A boating enthusiast, Jim spends his off-hours on his Nautique ski boat or waterskiing behind it, preferably on the glistening waters of Lake Tahoe. In rare quiet moments, he focuses on another of his passions – the history of World War II.
